A FEW GHOSTLY ENCOUNTERS

An orb that appeared near a lower back window ...

Halloween is around the corner.  It is absolutely my most favorite holiday next to Christmas of course.  I love all the decorating.  I also love the thought of  a haunted house and ghosts and goblins.  I even like a little scare factor.  Whenever my family and I go on vacation we make it a point to check out the supernatural history in the area.  We have gone to Murphys, Boston, San Diego, Salem, Charleston, Savannah and many other places and made it a point to visit sites where hauntings have been reported.  This includes hotels, houses, public places, and yes a few cemetery's as well.    I have also been fortunate enough to live in a few houses that have been known to have a few ghostly visitors.  No way you say.....Oh yes...and I have friends that have lived to tell about it.   I have never really been scared....well maybe a little.

Cemetery in Boston....check out those orbs.

Probably the scariest place we have visited was The Whaley House in San Diego.  It really doesn't look that scary.  But there were some definite unexplained events....one that sent a perfectly logical and reasonable young girl who happens to be my daughter running out of a room.

It looks like a perfectly innocuous place.  But I know a few people who personally that couldn't disagree more.   It has been investigated by numerous "Ghost Hunters" and a few celebrity's along the way including Rod Serling, Vincent Price and even Regis Philbin.  It is also  registered with the US Dept of Commerce as a Haunted House.  The only other Haunted House registered with the US Dept of Commerce is the Winchester Mystery House right here in San Jose, California.

You can check out more about the Whaley House here:  http://www.whaleyhouse.org/ghostly.htm

Old Cemetery's of course remain an all time favorite stop.  Boston, Savannah and Murphys have some very important ones from a Historical factor and also from a Haunted perspective.  Here are some my favorite photos of some of our cemetery visits.

Cemetery in Boston........and they locked us into the Cemetery at dusk.....YEP IT WAS FUN!!

Cemetery in Savannah.....the Spanish Moss adds just a little bit of the scary factor.

Of course to mix things up (because  just visiting cemetery's on our vacation would be a little weird...right?)  here is a picture of the City jail in Charleston, SC.  My husband and I went on a late night ghost tour.  The jail was in operation from 1802 through 1920.....and yes it was a little creepy and a lot SCARY!!!

So that is my little Halloween tour.....and hasn't it been fun!!!!

I have been working hard at school and the projects are coming in faster and faster.....and certain days I do feel like my friend below.......but at the end of the day it is nothing a little Oil of Olay and a Tequila Gimlet can't help cure.....and not necessarily in that order.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
