A new adventure

It has been an amazing year.   I have been away from blogging since January and in that period of time lots of things have changed in my life.   I think you all deserve a little update in my life and I guess doing it in chronological order would be the best way to begin.

So here it goes.

August 2010 I started design school

September 2010 I was in the thick of things and in my element.

October 2010 Drafting, graphic techniques, color theory were my life.

November 2010 Major projects assigned and completed just in time to put on Thanksgiving dinner for 20 plus.

December 2010 First semester of design school is finished.  House decorated and Christmas eve dinner for 20 plus.

January 2011 Began second semester of design school.  Lighting, Art History, Finishes and Material and Elements of Design consume my life.

February 2011.  My husband and I decide to sell our home and finish up a remodel we started when we purchased the home.  This image above is a before.

March 2011.  New Kitchen designed by me and installed in less than three weeks.

April 2011. New kitchen and bar completed just in time for my daughters 21st birthday celebration.

May 2011  House on the market and sold in one day.  In the midst of all of this I have finals and final projects due.

June 2011 One year of design school complete, Close of escrow and movers arrive to move us to our new adventure.

And the new Adventure begins!!  Over the next year I will be remodeling this cute 1980's circa ski lodge style home into a permanent residence.  In the fall I will be applying to several CSU and UC schools to transfer in Fall of 2012 and complete my degree in interior design.  I expect it to be a year full of excitement and of course challenges.  I look forward to sharing this adventure with all of you.

Of course I have lots of detailed stories to share with you about things that occurred over this last year.  There were many lessons learned amidst tears, joy and laughter.

Most recent lesson learned.......pack light.
