Moodboard experiments

Do you ever walk into a room and instantly want to make it over?   There have been many times I see something and wonder how if it would look.   But it would be a little pricey to go and buy new furniture every time I get a whim.   And truth be told I am not very good about returning stuff............. soooooooo I have been creating moodboards which can give me a sense if what I visualized in my mind is going to look good.   It is a great way to experiment with color and texture.

Here are some of my Moodboards......just for fun!

I call this one "A gimlet sliced"

In this one I was experimenting with combining the colors Rust and Turquoise.

Hmmmm.......How about calling this one  "GONE TO THE DOGS"
And last but not least  I call this one

"NOT FOR BRUNETTES ONLY"

because

ANYONE WOULD LOOK FABULOUS IN THIS ROOM!!

DIY confessions

I have been spending the last week or so painting, sanding, and hanging wallpaper.   Many years ago  I was all about DIY.

I have painted murals in bathrooms and clouds on ceilings.

I have hung my share of wallpaper.

I even used sheets as wall decor in apartments and duplexes I lived in but did not own.
It is a great solution for decorating walls in a temporary situation. For more information check out this link for decorator secrets.

And to be sure I have painted and painted and then painted some more.

I have even installed several tons of Pennsylvania Blue Stone in a entry, dining room, hallway and kitchen.

I have cut holes in walls and installed molding.

I have landscaped many a homes the last one being almost a half acre.

I really do love reading about DIY and seeing the results

..............BUT.........

I have come to the conclusion

I love supervising the doing rather than doing the doing.

But for now my husband and I are doing the doing.

The next task is painting a kitchen and living room, installing new base, some more wallpaper, taping and texturing.

Of course the goal is to get all this done before Thanksgiving.

No problem.....right?
