Mark Twain and texture inspiration

Texture inspiration from Nature?   What do I mean by that?   It is important in planning your space to think about layering and adding texture.   Color and texture are key.

Mark Twain's cabin is a few miles from me.   I took this picture on one of our little day trips.   Mark Twain spent a rainy three months in this place from 1864 until March of 1865.  He spent a lot of time at a local tavern in Angels Camp listening to the locals tell tales of a jumping frog.  He took notes and sketches and spent that rainy winter writing the short story "Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" .

I love to look outdoors for inspiration.  I think that this space was inspired by nature and her texture as well.

I just love the stone and the linear elements of the wood.

Nature, Texture and Color......it just gives me goosebumps!!!!
